Simply Sesame Beef & Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbs. cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbs rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tbs brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp Sriracha
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 1 lb. beef strips, seasoned with salt and pepper
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tbs sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, add water and cornstarch, whisk until cornstarch is dissolved.
  2. Add soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, honey, Sriracha, garlic powder and red pepper flakes, whisk vigorously until sugar and honey dissolve.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  4. Add beef strips, cook 1-2 minutes on one side until browned, flip.
  5. Add broccoli, garlic and sauce.
  6. Turn skillet up to medium-high heat, simmer about 5 minutes until sauce has thickened and broccoli is cooked.
  7. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  8. Serve over rice.
