Ingredients

- 1 1/2 pounds medium shell pasta
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 large cloves garlic, crushed
- 3 tbsp white, all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 10oz extra sharp white cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Prepare pasta according to package instructions, set aside in a large bowl
- In a large sauce pan, melt butter over medium-low heat
- Add crushed garlic, mix
- Whisking, add flour 1 tbsp at a time, butter and flour will thicken into a roux
- Slowly add milk, whisking constantly
- Add salt and pepper, mix
- Switch to a wooden spoon, add cheese 2-3oz at a time
- Keep mixing gently until all cheese is melted and cheese sauce is smooth
- Pour cheese sauce over the pasta, mix
- Serve immediately for best results
