TIPS FOR MAKING Chocolate Peppermint Surprise Kiss Cookies
Ideally you will want to refrigerate the dough for about 1 hour. If you end up making the dough farther in advance, that’s ok, just take it out about 30 minutes before you want to start making the cookies so it will soften a bit.
Unwrap the kisses prior to starting to work with the dough. Your hands will be a sticky mess and it will be hard to open them as you’re working.
Use clean hands to work the dough and wrap it around the kiss. It takes a little bit of work to get the kiss fully covered inside the dough and the dough rolled into a clean ball. Just keep working it!
The recipe should make about 18 cookies, that will obviously depend on the size of your cookie balls. They are meant to be just a bit larger than the kiss to make sure it is covered and doesn’t ooze out of the cookie when baked.
