Blood Orange Mango Smoothie
This Blood Orange Mango Smoothie is an easy 3-ingredient smoothie made with mango, coconut milk and blood orange juice. Just what you need if you are fending off a winter cold, or dreaming of sunnier days.
All week I’ve been battling a nasty cold. I feel very lucky to not have been hit by the dreaded flu that is still plaguing the nation. But I think we can all agree that being sick no matter in what form or severity is no fun! I was really craving something cold that would smooth my sore throat so I called on my friend Mr. Smoothie to make this Blood Orange Mango Smoothie.
It’s cool, refreshing and packs some essential vitamins and minerals for fighting off a cold.
Plus, I couldn’t resist one more opportunity this winter to shoot with one of my favorites, the blood orange. It’s such a beautiful and well behaved photography subject, making my job a whole lot easier π
Let’s be honest, when you are feeling under the weather, the last thing you want to do is spend lots of time preparing food, if you feel like eating at all. So I’m keeping this recipe real simple with only 3 ingredients – vanilla coconut milk (I used the trader joe’s brand), juice of 3 moro blood oranges and 1 cup frozen mango. If you would like you can sub in vanilla greek yogurt for the coconut milk for a little thicker consistency.
