I’ve saved the best for last! This is my favorite Thanksgiving leftover idea. I love a good sandwich and this one is SO good!
An easy sandwich made on a ciabatta roll, layered with leftover turkey and apple slices and oozing with melted cheddar cheese and homemade apple butter – I’m drooling just thinking about it!
What do I need to Make Apple Cheddar Turkey Melts
These Apple Cheddar Turkey Melts are only 5 ingredients!
Ciabatta Rolls – Good bread makes a great sandwich. Ciabatta rolls are perfect for this sandwich because they are soft on the inside with large pockets to hold the apple butter and melted cheese
Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese – The extra sharp cheddar gives the sandwich a little zing that pairs well with the sweet apple butter.
Leftover Turkey – thick slices of leftover turkey work perfectly for this sandwich. If you don’t have leftover turkey you can use thick sliced deli turkey (3-4 slices).
Granny Smith Apple Slices – Slice them thin so they are easy to bite into, they add a really nice crunch factor!
Homemade Apple Butter – It’s the secret sauce that takes the sandwich up a notch! If you don’t have time to make homemade, store bought will work too.
Can I make these sandwiches ahead of time?
You can keep the sandwiches wrapped up individually in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. When you want to eat them warm in the oven as instructed.
