Sprinkles and Sea Salt Launch + Office Reveal

It’s here, it’s here! My brand spanking newly rebranded blog, Sprinkles and Sea Salt has launched and I couldn’t be happier about how it turned out! Sprinkles & Sea Salt is a place for me to share my latest recipe creations with you! My hope is that I can take some of the stress out of cooking and inspire you to get creative and have fun in your kitchen by letting you into mine!

Formerly Chocolate Covered Cheetah, the name was not fitting my purpose and vision for this space. The very talented Lisa of Elembee built this beautiful blog that aligns perfectly with my hopes and dreams for Sprinkles and Sea Salt! She also dealt with my very technologically challenged self throughout the whole rebrand process. Everything that you could find on Chocolate Covered Cheetah, all of the recipes I have shared in the past, are still living here thanks to her! Thank YOU, Lisa!

The decision to rebrand was not one I ended into lightly. It took me a while to decide that I was going to go ahead with it. It is not an easy task or decision to make. I was doing a lot of research into the process when I came across something that basically matched exactly how I felt about my blog, it said something along the lines of “if you don’t feel comfortable sharing the name of your blog with people then you should rebrand”. When I read that I thought, “yep, that is 100% me”. And I have felt that way until, well right now! I was not excited to tell people about my blog for 2 reasons. 1. I am inherently a very shy person who doesn’t really love sharing things about myself… I know that’s not great for a blogger, haha. And 2. because I didn’t want to have to explain why my blog was named “Chocolate Covered Cheetah”. I choose the name on whim, thinking that it combined food and running, but even that is a stretch and my blog has very little to do with running anymore…

So, finally, TODAY I feel so relieved to have my blog name be something I can be proud to talk about! Since the goal of this space is to SHARE and CONNECT with you!

Here’s a big HELLO and WELCOME to SPRINKLES AND SEA SALT, I am SO glad you are here 🙂

For months now I have been promising to share my office reveal with you! Here it is! New blog, New office 🙂 Since I work about 20 hours a week from home for my day job and of course all of my blog work is done at home it was important that I had a dedicated work space in our house so I could focus and have some separation between work and play.

The first thing that had to happen was the color of the walls needed to change. They were a dark, hunter-like green color that would maybe be pretty for a bathroom, but was too dark and dreary for a work space. I decided on this light grey color and I am totally in love with it. It’s like a cool, grey that makes me feel relaxed and productive (haha, 100% mental).

Once the wall color was changed I decided on the Lamantia Saine Computer Desk from Wayfair. I am so happy with this desk now, I love the color, it’s a great size and it’s really sturdy. However, it was a beast to put together. If you are a regular reader, you may remember me mentioning my desk building whoas, it was not at all easy to put together. Walter and I are not the handiest, so that didn’t help, but I definitely suggest purchasing the assembly if you don’t want to spend hours putting it together. I tried to add the assembly after the fact and Wayfair actually gave me 20% back to “hire a friend to help me”, haha. Talk about great customer service!

Next up was the chair! It’s this chair from World Market, I was determined to sneak some cow print into the office – my space, my rules 🙂  It’s not on sale right now, but World Market is always running all kinds of sales and promotions, never buy anything at full price! Thankfully the chair assembly was a breeze!

Once the desk and chair were rolling the lost thing to tackle was what to hang on the wall. It took me a really long time to decide what I wanted to put up, but once I discovered Marcella Kriebel on Instagram I knew I had to have some of her Illustrated Feast Water Color Prints !!! I mean, how perfect are they for a food blogger?! To top it off she is a local DC artist! If you live in the DC area, click here to find out where you can find her work! In addition she frequently hosts events at different eateries around DC called “Art You Can Eat” where you get to paint and eat the featured cuisine! If you are not local to DC you can order her prints from the shop on her website.

Narrowing down to 4 prints was not easy, she has so many to choose from! I settled on the ice cream cone, avocado, pineapple and donuts and I am so happy with how they complement each other! Marcella was generous enough to gift me these 4 prints along with 1 for one of my Instagram followers! If you click over to my Instagram I will be giving away the ice cream come print to one lucky follower!

Thanks for dropping by today!
